Fractional microneedling for texture, tone, and scarring — planned over a series, because the result is cumulative. Planned in Newport News near Kiln Creek, over months rather than sold as a single appointment.
Microneedling
Microneedling here comes in two strengths. Mechanical microneedling with the Dermapen DP4 — texture, pores, tone, and shallow scarring, with minimal downtime. RF microneedling with the PiXel8-RF adds heat at depth for deeper scarring and early laxity. They’re different tools, not a good-better-best ladder, and the consultation sorts out which one your skin is actually asking for. Both pair with PRP when it’s likely to earn its cost — and we’ll say when it isn’t.
If what you are after is pores that read smaller and a brighter surface rather than a change in texture, a carbon laser facial does that at the surface with no downtime — and will not do what microneedling does. The two are not competing; they are aimed at different things.
What it addresses
- Rough texture and enlarged pores
- Atrophic acne scarring (often with PRP)
- Overall skin quality and firmness
Questions
Is microneedling worth it for acne scars?
For atrophic (pitted) scarring, microneedling — often with PRP — is one of the evidenced options, planned over a series. Deeper or mixed scarring may call for the layered protocols on our scar revision page.
